Patience        Understanding        Attention        Forgiveness        Consistency
Jon Eagle Sr., is Hunkpapa Lakota and grew up on a
ranch in north-central South Dakota during a time when horses
were vital to a ranches operations.  He has spent a lifetime
learning to develop a relationship with horses and people.  Jon is
certified to provide Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) through the Equine Assisted
Growth And Learning Association (EAGALA).  He is also
certified by Greg Kersten's, OK Corral Series, Mile Post Red,
OK in Crisis.  Greg Kersten is the founder of Equine Assisted
Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning.

Why Horses?

The Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people were considered to have
been one of the greatest horse nations in the world.  Our
ancestors knew and understood horses and their ability to
influence people in powerful ways.  Our relative the horse is like
a mirror; they reflect back to us what we send out to the universe.

Sung Nagi Kici Okiju: Becoming One with the
Spirit of the Horse is a unique approach that utilizes the wisdom
of the Lakota people and the Spirit of the Horse.  Together, we
will look at the four stages of life to gain a deeper understanding
of who we are physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Becoming One with the Spirit of the Horse helps to improve
creativity, problem solving, communication, team work and
leadership skills.  It builds upon strengths and helps to improve
self esteem, self confidence and self awareness.  By Becoming
One with the Spirit of the Horse, you will learn to center
yourself, reconnect and find balance.

Sung Nagi Kici Okiju teaches ground (95%) and mounted
exercises for use in the practice of Equine Assisted
Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning.

"Sung Naki Kici Okiju: Becoming one with the Spirit of the Horse is not a horsemanship
model.  Our ancestors weren't just good horsemen, they were good relatives to the Horse
Nation (Sunkawakan Oyate).  Wotakuye (Lakota Kinship), the foundation of Lakota
society extends beyond just the two legged, it acknowledges our relationship to everything
in creation." Jon Eagle Sr ,Hunkpapa Lakota
